| My interest in painting was
latent, or perhaps I should say, undiscovered, for my first fifty-six
years. My style and my vision for myself as a painter therefore, are
very much in gestation.
Most of my paintings in this online gallery were accomplished "en plein aire", and some are studio pieces. A few were
unfinished on site, and then completed later on. Most are landscapes, but I
have included portraits as well. Currently, all my work is in oil.
In the last
two years I’ve have put paintings in several shows and galleries. My entry in
Spring Bull’s Annual Fakes & Forgeries won a Most Original award in 2007.
The painting “St. George’s in
Winter” took the second place “People’s Choice” in this year’s Newport Art
Guild members show, and my portrait submission to the 2007 Newport Art Museum’s
annual Member Show was one of 30 out of 250 entries accepted for juried display.
In September, 2007 I participated in "Four
Perspectives" a four person show at the Spring Bull Gallery, along with Betty Ann Morris, Jon McPhillips, and Mark Fernandez.
